About the event
Jacques Carroll-Leitao is a guitarist, lutenist, composer and music researcher hailing from sunny Cumbernauld. He started learning music at the age of 6, and aimed for a musical career early on, He attended Douglas Academy music school followed by the RCS, where he is now pursuing a PhD on classical improvisation for guitar and lute.
Jacques specialises in classical guitar but has a wide range of musical interest and knowledge, being an experienced jazz musician and arranger. This has led to him playing inmany groups and bands in many different genres. Although classical music remains his primary focus, these other influences are distinctly felt in his compositions and arrangements.
